The Elverum Omnisport Club was founded in 1892. The handball section was founded in 1946. A major figure in Norwegian handball, the Elverum club won its first championship in 1995. Its hegemony on the Norwegian championship continues since 2012 with a series of 8 consecutive titles.

Following the 2021/22 EHF Champions League group stage, the club finished 6th, behind Vardar and Montpellier, and will be playing a playoff game against Paris Saint-Germain to qualify for the Round of 8.
The Parisians against Elverum
The Elverum - PSG match, counting for the EHF Champions League 2019/20 matchday 3, held at Hakons Hall in Lillehammer, marked a record attendance for an indoor sport in Norway with 12,500 spectators. The Parisians won this game 25 - 22.
On October 15, 2020, and for Luc Abalo's return to Coubertin, the Parisians won 35-29 on matchday 3 of the group stage. The Red and Blue can count on the performances of Mikkel Hansen and Elohim Prandi.
On March 2, 2021, PSG met Elverum in the second leg of the EHF Champions League group stage. Contrary to the first leg, the Red and Blue won easily against the Norwegians (44-29) with 8 goals from Dylan Nahi.
Both teams met in the playoff stage of the Champions League 2021/22. In the first leg in Norway, the home side drew 30 all, despite 12 goals from Syprzak in only 13 attempts. In the decisive match in Coubertin, on April 7, 2022, the Red and Blue won 37 - 30 and qualify for th next round against Kiel.

Born in Paris on June 5, 1997, Adama Keita is a French handball player playing as a left winger. Raised in a handball family, his brother Mahamadou is now a pro at US Ivry. After making his first seasons in the youth categories at the CSM Finances in Paris, Adama Keïta join the PSG Handball training centre in 2015. In February 2018, at the age of 20, he signed his first professional contract. When the Parisians travel to Elverum on 28 September 2019, Adama Keïta will deliver an XXL performance, setting his record for the most goals scored in an EHF Champions League match (8 goals) with a variety of goals (counter-attacks, left-wing goal, 7-metre throw).
A true shield for his team since his debut at Elverum in the 2016/17 season, Emil Kheri Imsgard continues his rise to the highest level. The player born in 98 has been gaining experience with his club for several seasons in the Norwegian championship which he has already won 4 times, but also in the EHF Champions League. In the 2021/22 season, the Norwegian keeper had the opportunity to show his talent in this competition during the double confrontation between the Norwegian club and Paris Saint-Germain. That same year, Imsgard and Elverum also met another French team in the Champions League, facing Valentin Porte's MHB twice in the group stage.

With a capacity of 2,200 seats, the Terningen Arena is a multi-purpose hall for Elverum Handball as well as concerts, seminars and various events.
In 2018/19, the club relocated its most prestigious matches to Lillehammer's 12,500-capacity Hakons Hall, which was built in 1993 to host the Ice Hockey events of the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics.
Located in the city centre, the Terningen Arena is less than 15 minutes walk from Elverum train station. Oslo Airport is 102 km away from the Arena is actually easy access by car. Lillehammer's Hakons Hall, where Elverum Handball relocated its games against PSG and Flensburg in the 2018/19 EHF Champions League is 90 km northwest of Elverum (1h30 drive from Elverum).
