SG Flensburg Handewitt was formed from the merger of TSB Flensburg and Handewitter SV in 1990 and, despite its young history, is one of the iconic clubs in the German Bundesliga. After moving into the top flight two years after its foundation, the club stabilised at the highest level and won three league titles, four German Cups and three Super Cups. In 2018, 14 years after their last title, the club won the championship in a thrilling final, ending a run of 12 runners-up places between 1996 and 2017!
The German club won their first and only Champions League title in the 2013/14 season, having beaten FC Barcelona in the semi-finals and THW Kiel in the final. In the 2017/18 season, the club failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League against eventual winners Montpellier Handball.

Born on October 6, 1991, in Paris, Mathieu Grébille is a French player who plays at the back or left winger. Trained at Montpellier Handball, he made his professional debut in the 2010/11 season, with whom he played more than 700 matches in 10 seasons at the club. He played for Montpellier Handball in the 2019/20 season and crossed paths with FC Porto during the group phase of the Champions League. The Hérault club had lost at home in their first meeting, before a draw at Porto.

SG Flensburg Handewitt has been playing in the Flens Arena since its inauguration on December 2, 2001. The Blue and White can count on the support of no fewer than 6,300 spectators in their lair, including the Bundesliga's largest grandstand.
Located in the university park of the Hochschule Flensburg, the hall is easily accessible by public transport as well as by car, with plenty of parking facilities nearby. The Flens Arena can also be reached on foot from Flensburg railway station.
