The GOG Handbold

Gudme Oure Gudbjerg Handbold, commonly known as GOG Handbold, is a Danish club located in the town of Gudme, in Syddenmark. The name of the club comes from the three municipalities where the club was founded on May 1, 1973. Like its women section, the club had many succeeses in the 90s, winning four league titles and six Danish Cups.

On the European scale, the club reached the European Cup final in 1995, losing against Barcelona after a double-header.

GOG is also known for having developed great talents in Danish handball, such as Mikkel Hansen, Niklas Landin and Kasper Nielsen.

Paris Saint-Germain Handball will cross paths with GOG Handbold in the 2021-22 EHF Champions League group stage. They will be facing FC Porto, Dinamo Bucharest, Veszprem, Wisla Plock, Magdeburg and Zagreb.

Dainis Kristopans Right back September 27, 1990

Dainis Kristopans is necessarily a special player, one of the tallest players in the history of handball. This Latvian right back is also a great traveler: he played in 6 different countries before his arrival at Paris Saint-Germain in 2020. He has built over the years an impressive record, culminating in a victory in the EHF Champions League in 2019, with Vardar Skopje. That season, he was also voted Best Right Back of the competition. A great talent, literally and figuratively!

Anders Zachariassen Pivot September 4, 1991

Born on September 4, 1991, in Sonderborg, Syddenmark, Anders Zachariassen is a Danish playing as at pivot position. After being trained in the club of his hometown, Sonderjyske Handbold, he discovered a new championship in 2014 by joining Flensburg, not far from the Danish border. For his second season under his new colors, he reached the EHF Champions League Round of 8, beaten by the Polish of Kielce. This very mobile pivot has also distinguished himself in the prestigious Danish national team, winning gold medals at the World Championships in 2019 and 2021.

GOG Handbold plays in its home ground of Gudmehallerne, located in the city of Gudme, with a capacity of about 1,600 seats.

During the 2021-22 season, the club won at home against Skjern (34 - 29), Benfica (39 - 38) and Aalborg (38 - 35).
