Founded in 1922, HC PPD Zagreb is an emblematic club of the former Yugoslavia, member of the Croatian championship since 1992. After a period of dominance in the 1960s, the club went downhill in the 1970s and 1980s, symbolized by their return to Division 2 and even Division 3. In the Croatian Championship, the club achieved won both the Cup and the Championship in the first 20 seasons!
On the European scene, the White and Blue won the Champions Cup twice, in 1992 and 1993. In 1992, they defeated TEKA Santander, after having beaten USAM Nîmes.
The club has a sporting rivalry with FC Barcelona, born of their opposition in the Champions League: in 1997, 1998 and 1999, the two teams met in the final!

Born on July 10, 1986, in Lund, Sweden, Andreas Palicka is the goalkeeper of Paris Saint-Germain Handball. After winning everything with Kiel between 2008 and 2015, he played successively for Aalborg, Rhein-Neckar Lowen and then his training club of Redbergslide, before committing to Paris in the summer of 2022. With Sweden, he won the gold medal at the European Championships in 2022, after beating France in the semi-final and then Spain in the final by just one goal.
Born on April 18, 1986, in Split, Croatia, Jakov Gojun is a left back player for HC PPD Zagreb. In 2012, he left his native Croatia and joined BM Atletico de Madrid, before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. With the Red and Blue in 2015, he won the championship, the French Cup and the Champions Trophy. With the Croatian national team, he won the bronze medal at the London Olympics in 2012, as well as the silver medal at the World Championships in 2009.

With a capacity of more than 16,000 seats, Arena Zagreb is the official venue of HC PPD Zagreb. The stadium also hosts basketball, volleyball and even athletics.
Inaugurated in 2008, Arena Zagreb has been the scene of numerous sporting events such as the World Handball Championships in 2009, the Davis Cup Final in 2016, and the European Handball Championships in 2018.
