Founded in 1977 under the name of Racing Club de Saint-Etienne, the women's section of AS Saint-Etienne was born in 2009, after absorption of the club from Rhone-Alpes. If the team participates in the 2021/22 season of D1 Arkema after the blank season related to the health crisis, it reaches for the first time this level in 1980. After a tough season, the club ended at the 12th position, behind Issy and Dijon, synonymous with relegation.

ASSE's greatest title to date remains a French Cup victory achieved in 2011, after a penalty shootout won against Montpellier HSC.

The team has been coached since 2022 by French technician Laurent Mortel, after a season on the bench of Soyaux.

The club reached the final of the French Cup in 2013, defeated by the neighboring OL.

The Parisians against ASSE

The Parisians have crossed the road of ASSE twice in the French Cup. On April 16th, 2017, in the semi-finals, the Red and Blue had won 4 goals to 1. On April 15th, 2018, in the quarterfinals, the Greens had lost 3 - 0 at the Selif-Keita Stadium.

Back in D1 Arkema, ASSE lost in the capital, conceding 2 goals from Däbritz and Katoto, on matchday 6, before receiving the title holders on January 23rd, 2022 as part of the 13th matchday, the parisians went victourious 5 - 0, thanks to Katoto's Hattrick and two goals scored by Diani and Dudek.

Born on December 25th, 1990, in Malters, Switzerland, Ramona Bachmann has been playing for Paris Saint-Germain since 2020, and her departure from Chelsea FC. With the Blues, she won the Championship in 2017, as well as the English Cup the following year. Selected with the Nati since 2007, she is now one of the most important players, along with the FC Barcelona player Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic. On August 29th, 2021, she scored the 5th goal of the Red and Blue in the victory against Fleury 91.

Cindy Caputo Forward 07/02/1999

Born on February 7th, 1999, in Aix-en-Provence, Cindy Caputo is a player evolving in the position of striker at AS Saint-Etienne. Trained at Olympique de Marseille, she discovered the first division when she was only 16 years old during the 2016-17 season, and after winning the D2 title. Selected in the youth teams of the French Team, she reached the finale of the U19 European Championship with the Blues. Arrived in the Forez in 2020, she will lead the attack of ASSE for the return of the club in D1 Arkema.

The Selif-Keita Stadium

Located in the Parc des Sports de l'Etivallière in Saint-Etienne, the Salif-Keita Stadium hosts the home games of the ASSE women's section. It is named after Salif Keita, the first African golden ball winner and former player of the Green team between 1967 and 1972. It has a capacity of 1,250 seats.

The Salif-Keita Stadium is located right next to the Geoffroy Guichard Stadium.
