Founded in 1958 in Zaporijjia, on the shores of the Dniepr river, HC Motor is one of the main clubs of Superleague, the Ukrainian handball championship. The club was first known for its women's section, which won 14 championship titles in the 90s and 2000s, before becoming a stronghold of men's handball from 2013.
In the 2020-21 season, HC Motor finished undefeated in the league, with 13 wins in 14 matches, as well as the best attack and defense in the Superleague. The club had reached the EHF Champions League play-offs after finishing 5th in their group ahead of HBC Nantes. Then the step was too high against Meshkov Brest, despite a nice victory in the first leg.

The club was part of Group B alongside Barcelona, Porto, Bucaresti, Veszprem, Kielce and Flensburg. The club finished 8th behind Dinamo Bucaresti, despite one of the best defenses among the group.

Born on June 5th, 1997, in Paris, Adama Keita is a pure product of the Paris Saint-Germain training center, which he joined in 2015. He is a left winger who distinguished himself at a very young age by winning the bronze medal with France at the 2017 Junior World Championships. Since his arrival in the pro group, he has simply not known any other outcome than a French Championship title.
Born on June 24th, 1993, in Siauliai in Lithuania, halfway between Kaunas and Riga, Jonas Truchonavicius is a well-known player of the French championship. Indeed, this left back comes out of 5 seasons spent in Montpellier Handball, with whom he won the Champions League in 2018. Second of Liqui Moly Starligue the same year behind Paris Saint-Germain, he was elected best left back of the season.

HC Motor hosts its opponents in both the Superleague and the EHF Champions League at the Yunist Sports Palace. Renovated in 2018 and with a capacity of almost 3,200 seats, this multi-sport hall is also the venue for volleyball matches.
Located in the center of the city of Zaporozhia, on the shores of the Dnieper river, the Yunist Sports Palace is easily accessible by public transport, with lines 9 and 14, at the Kozak Palats stop.
